Healthy Foods provide nourishment in addition to calories and flavor.
Generally, the foods that are the least refined and in their most natural state are the healthiest – think whole foods!
- Fresh fruits and vegetables
- Whole grains
- Good proteins (dark leafy vegetables, fresh seafood and meats – those with no antibiotics, raised with benefit of sunlight and proper diet are best for our bodies)
- Healthy fats like olive oil and polyunsaturateds
Food Products that don’t provide nutritional value include things like:
- fast foods, in general
- sugary packaged goods
- most packaged foods located in the middle aisle of your grocery store!
Sometimes it’s hard to make healthy choices – after all, some of the other stuff is very tasty, easy to find and often cheap. But make reasonable efforts to choose wisely as often as you can and your body will thank you.
